Another year over, a new one just begun.

Goodness gracious it's 2011! A new dawn, a new day, a new life for me.
I've been horrible about keeping up with this blog. I might get better this year... or I might not. Not that anyone's reading, but I like to think that some people will stumble across this at some point in time and bother to pause and read a bit.

So much has been going on as of late. I've been getting more photography gigs recently, and I've discovered that I very much love photographing people.
I never really knew this until this past year. For the most part I would photograph things. Still life's, landscapes and the like. But recently I really genuinely love capturing people, and their expressions and emotions and life. It's kind of freeing, being able to just immerse yourself in someone else's world like that just for a moment, and to see what it's like.
I'm not sure I could do this as a full time job, because I rather dislike editing... but as an on the side thing, here and there, I don't mind it at all.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Smile for the camera

Over the weekend I discovered this little guy for $3. Sadly this does not make the reality of polaroid films extremely expensive cost go down any... However I am determined to one day take some polaroid shots. Even if it's just one pack...
I just would like to say to whoever's idea it was to discontinue the film.... What were you thinking????

Polaroid Obsessed

I have become just a little obsessed with polaroids lately.
I don't even have a polaroid camera, but I have been searching and scouring goodwill, ebay, thrift stores, craigslist, amazon and anything else I can for good deals and learning all I can about them. In my obsessive desire to own a polaroid camera I came across this little application.
It is horribly addictive and I have been spending all morning turning half my photo library into these fun little polaroids.
Go check it out, it's fun.
But you have been warned. Once you start, you can't stop.

"We should always know that we can do anything"

This song always makes me happy. It just sounds so cheerful and uplifting and I love the lyrics.

Go Do by Jonsi

Go sing too loud
Make your voice break - Sing it out
Go scream do shout
Make an earthquake...

You wish fire would die and turn colder
You wish your love could see you grow older
We should always know that we can do anything

Go drum do go out
Make your hands ache - Play it out
Go march through crowds
Make your day break...

You wish silence released noise in tremors
You wish I know it surrender to summers
We should always know that we can do everything

Go do you´ll know how to
Just let yourself fall into landslide

Go do you´ll know how to
Just let yourself give into low tide

Go do!

Tie strings to clouds
Make your own lake - Let it flow
Throw seeds to sprout
Make your own break - Let them grow

Let them grow (Endless summers)
Let them grow (Endless summers)

(Go do endless summers)

You will survive we´ll never stop wonders
You and sunrise will never fall under

You will survive we´ll never stop wonders
You and sunrise will never fall under
We should always know that we can do anything

Go do!

Rain rain don't go away

It's been splendidly rainy here for a good week or so now. I am rather enjoying it. There's just something about a rainy afternoon that makes you want to just slow down and live more beautifully.
I also think it's rather romantic. Reminds me of pride and prejudice.
And the leaves are just now starting to change a bit.
Oh Fall how I love you.

My Wish List

So I have accumulated quite the wish list lately. And for lack of anything better to do at work, since I've finished all my work, I shall make said list, here.

1. One of those feather hair clip things: I really don't know what these are called, and I haven't seen many around, but they are just the coolest things. I think. I might just have to make my own.

2. Faux fur leopard coat: I saw one at H&M last year for super cheap and kepttt going back and looking at it and thinking "I love this, but I can't pull it off". Oh how I wish I had gotten it now.

3. Jean Shirt: I am awaiting to stumble upon the perfect one while thrifting.

4. Jazz shoes: I love love love this style of shoe.

5. A brown leather bag: I need a new purse. Not too big, not too small, one that has handles that fit over your shoulder but also a strap to turn it into a messenger bag. Something like Fossil's Heirloom Convertible Messenger.

6. The Forever 21 silver cross ring: Enough said.

7. Robins egg blue nailpolish: As seen on the lovely Rachel of http://www.thatschic.net/

8. Leather gloves: There's just something so chic and vintage and classy about a pair of leather gloves.

9. A collection of old vintage rhinestone necklaces: I've seen plenty during my thrifting adventures but man are the pricey...

10. Big headphones: I don't know how practical these are, but hey they sure a cute.

Testing Testing 123

So I feel a lot of pressure in writing this... not ever having had a blog before, but always kind of wanting one, I don't really know what to say for my first post. And it might very well be my last and I'll never use this. I mostly just had fun designing it... But we shall see... this is more of a test for now... So I guess that's all then.
