Fashion's Night Out

So last week, despite the torrential downpour, I attended Fashion's Night Out at Short Pump mall, camera in tow. The VCU fashion show was definitely a personal favorite, I loved seeing students work being able to be shown off and admired. However the Project Style Style Off was also cool to watch.
And guess who won?
Our very own creator of From the Runway to RVA... Larissa Wisniewski! She definitely did us proud.
Check out her article about the event (featuring my photo's) and my facebook page for more photos from the night.

Friday I'm In Love: With Fellow Bloggers

So I read a lot of blogs.
My reader is constantly filled with pretty images and insightful words. I love getting inspired by others and their love for life and doing the things they love.
Here are some recent favorite posts....

This engagement shoot. It's adorable.

This photo shoot. I have one of those suitcases....

A tree house bed? I want one!

A post on how to stay inspired.

Things you learn from your hairdresser.

Pretty sure this would be a dream job.

I want a pet hedgehog

If I were more savvy with electric tools I'd make this...

Love these words of wisdom.

I want to make this for breakfast. Yum yum.

Have some gifts to wrap? Make them pretty.

Like Angelina, I wish I were an (underwater) ballerina

Adding this to the to do list

What a cute office. I love the colors!

What are some things you love this Friday?

One of My Favorite Places

It is no secret that I love the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. I have mentioned it several times.
Maybe more than several times.
I always find something new when I go.
And even on the rare occasion that I don't, I still love visiting my favorites.
For instance the little dancer by Dagas, who has been away on loan and has finally returned.
I missed her.

Anyway, I went again recently and here are some shots taken with my Minolta X-700
(and a not so great cell phone shot or two at the end)

I always leave this place happy.

Bagels and Yarn and Streetcars Oh My!

So since the beginning of September I have awoken each morning with the mindset that it is Fall.
This is quickly corrected once I actually step outside and discover the 80+ degree temperature and that the pants, scarves, hats and jackets I have donned are completely unnecessary and borderline suicidal.

However just because the weather refuses to cooperate, it doesn't mean I can't still do Fall-ish things.

For instance, this morning I ate a pumpkin bagel and drank a pumpkin latte (you probably can't tell, but I like pumpkin) and went to my favorite local yarn shop, Lettuce Knit, which had one of their annual yarn sales today and bought some yarn (all of which was cotton, which is about as un fall like as you can get with yarn but that's besides the point) so that I can start knitting again in earnest.
Knitting (and crocheting) as much as I'd like it to be a year round thing for me, I can never really get too into until it starts to get cold out.

And then I went to see A Streetcar Named Desire which was showing at The Byrd (for free!)

Not that this really has anything to do with Fall.
But it was still a nice addition to the day.

I'm still really ready for Fall though.

Fall Fashion

It's September.
Which means Fall is almost here.
My favorite season.
Which also means sweaters and hats and boots and scarves and layers can be worn! Hurray!
And jeans. I never wear jeans in the Summer so I miss them.
Here are some photos I've recently found that have been getting me in the Fall mood.

(Most of these I found on tumblr. However if you have the exact source please leave a link as I've forgotten it)
