A Happy List
It's been a bit of a stressful week so far.
I'm getting some things done but there have been a few set backs. Life has been kind of crazy with 5692 different things going on at once. So it's been slow progress.
However, instead of focusing on the bad, I'm going to focus on the good.
Here's a little list I wrote a week or two ago of things that made me happy.
1. Having someone to go on a Krispy Kreme run at midnight with
2. Buying a new box of Crayola crayons (complete with built in sharpener)
3. Staying up til 4am working on things for my new Etsy shop and loving every minute of it
4. That smell in the morning that tells you Autumn is just around the corner
5. Driving in rainstorms
6. Eating Eggo waffles for more than one meal a day....
7. The sound of my Minolta x-700's shutter releasing when I take a picture
8. That anticipation you have when opening an envelope of newly developed pictures
9. Having God show me new things in my quiet time
10. Skyping with one of your best friends and laughing about that time when you were little and rode recklessly down the street in a little red wagon
What are some things that make you happy?
Chic Stripes Interview
Sydney owner of Chic Stripes
Last week I had the privilege of being interviewed by Sydney, owner of Chic Stripes, a local stylist and blogger!
I met her recently during a photoshoot I was doing, that she was a participant of, for an up coming article for From the Runway to RVA. It was so lovely meeting her and capturing her style, which is so very classy and sophisticated. I loved her eye for fashion. And not only that but she was such a sweet and nice person to chat with.
I look forward to hopefully working with her again sometime in the future!
Check out the interview here.
Friends and Sponsors
Today I wanted to share that I recently had my first sponsor feature on Kandice's blog Here We Are!
She is such a sweet person and was nice enough to have my button featured on her blog (see it over there on the left?)
I also would like to take this opportunity to say that if anyone would like to feature one of my buttons on their blog, and would like me to feature one of theirs on mine, please contact me at by.leney@gmail.com for more information.
I'm offering this for free!

Kandice is doing the same thing and I basically want to just reiterate her words.
I hope everyone has a good week! Can't believe Monday is already here....

And Now The Moment You've All Been Waiting For.....
After three years of dreaming, wishing, aspiring and wanting to do this, It's finally done.......
MY ETSY SHOP IS OPEN!
You'll have to excuse the excessive use of caps. But I'm pretty excited.
Only a few things up at the moment, I'm going to be doing it in segments.
New things will be added daily so check back!
And know that 10% of all my proceeds go to helping the A21 Campaign which focuses on abolishing human trafficking in the 21st century. It's a subject that I'm passionate about and I want to dedicate part of my life to helping in any way I can.
So when you purchase something from A Girl Named Leney you'll be helping out too!
Thanks so much to everyone who's been such a huge help and support in helping me make this happen and encouraging me to pursue this. I wouldn't have been able to do it without all the people I love.
And of course thanks is due to my loving God to whom I have to thank above all for all of this.
So here's to all of you guys, you're the best!
Best start of a month ever.
October is going to be a good one, I can feel it.

Model Mayhem
Cayla
This girl is gorgeous.
There is no doubt about it.
There is no doubt about it.
So when she asked me to take her senior pictures of course I said yes!
Her natural beauty was easy to capture and her constant jokes and sarcastic wit made it hard for me to hold the camera still from laughing so much.
Not to mention her own laugh is infectious, so we had a pretty good time to say the least.

Cayla and I have actually known each other for awhile now, I having graduated with her older sisters, and so I was honored when she asked me to take her senior pictures.
She had no reservations when I suggested (carefully) stepping into flower beds and over walls, standing on benches or standing in a waterfall while we were taking her pictures.
She also had quite a few ideas of her own and I loved collaborating with her creatively.
We definitely had a good time.
