Captain Buzzy's Beanery

Captain Buzzy's Beanery is yet another cute coffee shop I've had the chance to check out recently.
You regular readers will probably recognize Mary from a few posts back.
She and I also hit up Globehopper the same day actually!
I mean we were in the area, we figured why not?

Captain Buzzy's was lovely though.
We each got one of their "OMG" cookies and honestly, I don't even remember what was in it, but it was delicious. I wanted to take a whole plateful home...
Their sweet tea was also one of the best I've had in RVA.

I know you must think I can't possibly be as enthusiastic as I have been about all these things that I've tried at these places and that they must be paying me to compliment them. But seriously, I must have a gift with picking good first drinks and foods to try. Because so far I haven't been let down.
Or these places could just genuinely have good food...
One or the other.
;)

Street Style Saturday

One of my favorite street style photos I've taken recently.
Saw this guy downtown a few weeks ago and of course I had to stop him.
I mean how could I not?
Just look at those precious little puppies!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!
I'm waiting for Fall to show up.
It's too hot around here.

Friday's Letters

Dear Richmond,
You're pretty during the day and at night.

Dear Pumpkin Spice Latte,
Finally. You are back!

Dear Readers,
Do any of you live in Baltimore?
I'm doing a craft show there soon!

Dear Workload,
You're a little overwhelming sometimes.

Dear Random Girl Who Told Me My Dress Was Cute Yesterday,
Thanks.
That was appreciated more than you know.

Dear Pinterest,
You are eternally distracting.

Dear Baby Mouse I Saw Yesterday,
I hope you are safe.
You were really cute.

Dear Beirut,
Come back to Virginia would you?
It's been so long since I've seen you.
I need some live accordion in my life.

Dear Anyone,
Some donuts and coffee right now would be much appreciated.

Blue China

So I didn't exactly thrift this.
I found it on Etsy in this lovely shop.
However it was a super great find and a really good deal!
Definitely thrift like status.

I've wanted a set of blue china for quite sometime.
I don't really know when it started or why, other than the fact that it's beautiful. And blue (my favorite color). And because it's something I equate to elegance and having tea in an old beautiful fancy parlor.
Just the romantic/old lady in me I guess.
And while I would eventually like to have a full set for a table full of people, I decided that two full place settings is a good start.

Maybe I'll get the teapot next. ;)

Street Style Saturday: In Europe

Today's street style post includes some of the few photos I took of some people during my trip to Scotland and England
As I mentioned in this post, I didn't want to come off as an obnoxious American tourist so I wasn't ever able to summon the courage to go up to people to ask if I could take their picture. However I did get a few semi ok shots, And since I haven't been super diligent about getting some street style photos around here lately, I figured I might as well show you these!

.......................

And yes, that may or may not have been a shot of my friend Jackie I snuck in there...
But she's stylish, so it works right?

Hopefully I'll be bolder next time and able to get some better shots!

P.s. Happy September 1st!

Friday's Letters

Dear This Song,
You are never not my favorite.

Dear Charlottesville,
I loved visiting you tonight. Thanks for the splendid time.

Dear Fried Pickles (Not All Kinds, Just Some),
You're yummy.

Dear Lewis,
Thanks for (mostly) using your litter box. If you could just keep that up that'd be swell.

Dear Red Chanel Rain Jacket,
I wish you could have been mine.

Dear Fall,
Are you coming or not?

Dear New York City,
I really really miss you. It's getting worse and worse.

Dear August,
It was nice knowing ya. See you till next year!

Mary

Mary is one of my very dearest friends.
As cheesy as it is to say, she is one of the most beautiful people I know. Inside and out.
But seriously.
I love that we share a mutual love for Richmond. And for food. And for old pretty architecture. And for Jane Austen. And even for the 2003 Peter Pan.

We had a date recently and coffee shop hopped (GlobeHopper was one of our stops) and then wandered around the city. And I, of course, took lots of pictures.
I mean can you blame me?
The girl's gorgeous.

Such a goofball
I know this one's out of focus, but I still love it
Such a beauty

I love this girl so very much.
I feel so very blessed to have the friends that I do.
