Hello Fall

Photo cred: Meagan Abell
It's not much of a secret that fall is my favorite season. And I know it's been around for a few weeks now but I was inspired by this post and I thought I'd do one similar.

I'm looking forward to...

eating / chili's and bean soups and all things pumpkin flavored
drinking / chamomile tea with honey (because, really, is there anything more soothing?)
practicing / thankfulness
mastering / a good work routine
learning / french
playing / in apple orchards and on mountain tops and in cars with friends on roadtrips
finishing / a new sweater
reading / lots of fitzgerald
walking / in lots of crunchy leaves
wearing / endless cozy warm knitted articles of clothing
cooking / an apple pie
working / on new designs for the shop
traveling / to chicago come november (and hopefully nyc again sometime soon too)
wanting / to spend more time with the people i love

Knitting On CBS 6

So if you read my post the other day, you'll know that I was on TV Monday morning!
I had heaps of fun and it was such a crazy and awesome experience. I mean... being on TV? What??
It wasn't at all what I expected, but in all of the nice, this-is-more-laid-back, not-as-scary-as-it-looks kind of ways. And of course Jessica was so very lovely and helped calm my nerves by being so sweet and easy going.
So here's the video, since you all asked me to post it!

P.s.
I want to thank all of you who sent me encouraging and supportive texts, calls, messages, comments etc. before and after the whole process! Your love and encouragement means so much to me, I can't even begin to thank you fully. I feel truly blessed to have so many wonderful and uplifting people in my life.
Couldn't do this without you guys!

P.p.s.
You can find the pieces shown on the show in the shop!

I'm Going To Be On TV!

Photo cred: Meagan Abell

So guess what friends?
I'm going to be on Virginia This Morning on CBS6 news this Monday at 9am!
I'll be doing a short segment with a knitting demonstration as well as having a few models feature some of my knits! I'm pretty excited about it. Though immensely nervous. I mean live television?! Where I have to talk about... stuff? And I don't get any do-overs? Or take two's?
Hopefully I'll hold it together and won't laugh nervously too much...

But anyway, all you Richmonders should tune in!
And if someone wants to tape it for me that'd be super.
If you can even do that now a days without VCRs...
Do people even still own VCRs?
Can you tape things on DVDs?
Can you even still tape things?

Clearly I'm very technologically gifted...
I'll just stick to knitting.

Things I Love Thursday: A Necklace

Once upon a time I went to England.
In England I stayed at a lovely house.
I was given a key to this house.
I had a very nice stay.
Eventually though I had to travel back to America.
However upon my arrival back home I realized that the key had somehow made it into my luggage and had travelled back with me.
So I kept it.
And made it into a necklace.
And it's now one of my favorites.
The end.

Maddie + Taylor | Rehearsal Dinner

Had an exceptionally lovely time with all of these wonderful people at Maddie and Taylor's rehearsal dinner over the weekend!
The wedding was, to say the least, perfect.
Of course.
Cannot wait to share the photos!
But in the mean time, check out a few favorites from the rehearsal dinner at Arcadia (an incredibly delicious Richmond eatery that I will definitely be frequenting again asap...)

Check back soon for wedding photos!

Sugar Shack Donuts

It's no secret that I love donuts.
I mean out of all of the dessert/sweet foods in the world, they are probably my favorite.
I have contemplated having my wedding cake made of donuts. I mean really, cake vs. donuts?
There's not even a competition there.
Anyway, Meagan feels somewhat similar in this regard so we decided to check out the new donut place in town together: Sugar Shack Donuts.
It was well worth a trip and we will definitely be going back in the near future!
Side note: Can I be honest and just say that I love that we have more than one donut place in town?
The more the merrier I say.
