Tutorial: Mens Shirt Turned To Dress

Today I am sharing with you my first ever tutorial!
I'm pretty excited about it.
I'll be showing you how to turn a mans dress shirt into a cute dress!
It's super easy, with a minimal amount of sewing skills required.
Ready?
Let's get started.
....................

Things You Will Need
-Scissors
-Pinking shears (If you have them. If not it's ok!)
-A sewing machine (or needle and thread if you intend to sew by hand)
-An X-Large mens dress shirt (I scored this one at a thrift store for $1)
-A cute belt

Step 1: Lay out your shirt

Step 2: Cut off the sleeves right before the seam so that you still have an edge that will prevent too much fraying

Step 3: Admire your now sleeveless shirt

Step 4: Try on your shirt (inside out) and determine where you want your sleeve to end

(mine was about 7 1/2" down from the shoulder. This may be different for you though!)

Step 5: Once you determine this, stick a pin in your shirt to mark that point

Step 6: Now, starting from the pin, draw a line all the way down to the bottom of your shirt. You will be sewing along this line and making a new seam.
Once you've done that, cut off the remnant seam with your pinking shears
(to prevent fraying!)

Step 7: Put on your new dress, don a cute belt and revel in your craftiness!
