So I mentioned this giveaway in the original lookbook post, but since I've been traveling and since I haven't been doing the best job of promoting it, I know a lot of you missed it!

So I've decided to just go ahead and extend the giveaway for the rest of July.
Read on to learn how you can win one of the new designs from the shop!

In honor of traveling, the new designs and stylish crocheting/knitting loving people everywhere, I am doing
a giveaway this week for one item of your choice from the shop!
All you have to do is email (by.leney@gmail.com) or message me on Facebook (A Girl Named Leney) a photo with your favorite memory of being on the road.
It can be a sentence, or a small paragraph, whatever you like.
At the end of the month I will put them in an album on my page and people will vote for their favorite!
The winner will get their choice of one free piece from the shop.
So spread the word, the more the merrier!
I want to hear your stories.
Because I love stories, especially travel ones.

On The Road: A Knit Lookbook

This collection is called

On The Road

because I primarily designed and created these pieces when I was, in fact, on the road.

I resolved at the beginning of the year that this would be a year of traveling, and I'm pleased to say that it has been. I've been to six different states so far this year (some of them multiple times), not to mention various cities within Virginia and two more states are on the calendar for this month.
Not bad in a six month period.

While I would dearly love to go out of the country before the year's out, and there's been various planning/dreaming for that, I still very much love exploring this country of mine and all it has to offer.

It's a wildly beautiful one after all.

Technically all but one of these pieces is crocheted, but I decided to stick with the "Knit Lookbook" title that I've used in the past.

Besides, you can be sure come fall I'm going to have heaps of new cozy knits for you guys anyway. ;)

Fashion Friday + A Giveaway With Lisa Leonard

So it's been quite a while since I've done a Fashion Friday post!
Summer outfits mostly consist of cut offs and bathing suits... so nothing all that picture worthy.
I definitely can't wait for fall and all the lovely knits, boots and layers, that's for sure.

The primary reason for this post is actually to showcase this beautiful necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs! I chose this necklace because, let's be honest, I'm a lover of any sort of water.
And this pretty little thing reminds me of the sea.
And I'm a sucker for any sort of gold jewelry.
So it's the best of both worlds.

Anyway, along with this outfit post I have a fun giveaway for you guys!
Up for grabs is a $50 gift card to Lisa's oh so beautiful shop.

All you have to do to enter the giveaway is sign up for Lisa's newsletter

A Haircut & A Giveaway

I was recently contacted by an agency working with Hair Cuttery and asked if I wanted to receive a gift card to use at one of their salon's and in return take some photos and do a review here on the blog of my experience.
My hair was looking a little shabby so I figured, why not?
So last week I dragged my friend Meagan along with me to help take some photos and got myself a haircut!

Hair Cuttery's prices are affordable, and that's what I like about them. Because honestly, as nice as it would be to be able to go to a top dollar salon and get a high dollar haircut, a lot of us just can't afford that on the regular. Especially when all you really want is just a little trim and restyling.
In my experience Hair Cuttery has always lived up to that part of their bargain.

I chose the Style Express package which was an affordable $27 and included a shampoo, Redken Chemistry treatment and a cut and blow dry. I can already tell that the chemistry treatment made my hair a lot smoother and softer. Which is definitely a plus in the cold dry winter!
I only wanted a trim with a few more layers put in my hair and my bags fixed but they offer a lot more at Hair Cuttery. They're not just limited to hair cuts, they also do color, waxing and texturing as well.
You can see a list of all their services on their website!
You should also know that through March 4th, Hair Cuttery is also offering discounted color packages and 40% off professional shampoo and conditioning liters.

I'm super happy with the overall outcome and I love my new hair!
But don't take my word for it, see for yourself...

Here's my hair before...
 During
 Really during...
After!

They did a pretty good job didn't they?
Well I have some good news, they also gave me a $50 Hair Cuttery gift card to offer to one of you guys! Read the details below on how you can enter.
