Week In Review #6

This week I...
-Read. A lot! Hurray for Summer time and getting back to reading like the book worm I am. I've read two books this week already.
-Re-discovered rangoons. Can you say delicious?
-Got some mail from a dear friend back in England. Miss her (Love you Jenn!)
-Jackie and Will were in town for a couple weeks! I got to spend some good time with Jackie which was lovely. Seeing them made me miss Edinburgh though. Jackie and I of course stopped by The Yarn Lounge (I maybe bought something).
-Spent the day at the river with some friends. A wonderful day.
-Reached 400 followers! I cannot even believe it. It's crazy. You guys are the best!
-Went to First Friday (pictures forth coming)
-Celebrated donut day
-Finally got to go to the beach! It was heaven. I'd missed it so.
-Ate funnel cake (enough said)
-Saw a rainbow
-Played some pool (and won. Just sayin.)
-Tried Panera's frozen lemonade smoothie. Not as good as Busch Garden's, but not bad.
-Worked on my travel blanket
-Went to a family cookout. It was so good seeing some extended family again. Love them all.
-Made my first ever video! I'm obsessed now. I will be making videos of everything and anything now.
-Reunited with one of my very dear and best friends. We've known each other for more than half of our lives. It was so good catching up with her (love you Han).
-Went to Don't Look Back for dinner! Post about that also coming soon.

How was your week?

Scenic World

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, my first ever movie!
It comes with a few disclaimers though...

1. I filmed this with my iPhone and I accidentally did some of the clips upside down somehow. Don't judge me.
2. I didn't have enough footage for the whole song so I had to repeat some stuff.
3. My Mom somehow evaded all of my filming. I promise she was there though.
4. The song in the video is Scenic World by Beirut
5. This was my first time using iMovie. Again, don't judge.
6. Despite its shoddiness I am quite proud of myself right now.

Without further ado, a video of our sailing trip last weekend!

Have a stupendous weekend!
Mine has been marvelous so far.

May First Friday

You've probably heard me talk about First Friday's here and there.
It is one of my favorite Richmond traditions.
I hadn't been since August (can you believe that??) so a friend and I called it a date, had dinner at Black Sheep and quenched our artistic palettes.
There were some new galleries that I'd never been to before which I'm super excited about.
Overall, the art featured this week wasn't too much to our taste (a lot of sci fi and comic book art) but we still had a good time and were able to find a few things we liked.
We ended with shakes at Galaxy.
Of course.
Here are a few photos and instagrams of the night!

Tonight is actually June's First Friday!
So I'm headed to that tonight.

Shows how on time I am with sharing these things...

A Question

(photo taken with Instagram of a necklace I made recently!)

Hello lovelies.
It's been a busy week so far, hence my lack of posting, but things are good!
I can't believe it's already the end of May.
The cliche, but relevant, question of 'where has the time gone?' must be asked.

Anyway,
I thought I'd ask you all a little question today and get your thoughts on some things.
I was wondering what you most enjoyed seeing here on the blog.
Is it outfit posts, instagram round ups, travel photos, fashion related stuff, restaurant reviews, shop updates, photoshoots, knitting shenanigans, silly lists or even (but not likely) what I do on an average day? You name it! I want to know.
Leave a comment with your thoughts and I will think about making more of what you'd like to see happen.
Also,
If there is anything that I don't currently do that you all think would be fun, or if you have some ideas, throw them out there!
While this blog is primarily for me and keeping up with different things and sharing my Etsy and photography stuff, I wouldn't be able to do a lot of what I have done without all of you wonderful readers and your love and support. So I want to give you a say in some things!

Let me know what your thoughts are about it, I love hearing from you as always.
Have a great last day of May!

So I have a question for you guys.
I've been making these various knit and sewn animals (elephants, koala bears, giraffes, hippos... it's starting to look like a zoo around here), but I wanted to know what you all thought about some new ones.
If I could make any kind of animal, which one would you want to see me to make?
Let me know!

Also announcing the giveaway winner and it is..... *insert drumroll here*

Shoot me an email with your address and info and I'll send you your new friend next week!

And don't be sad that you didn't win, I'll have another giveaway soon:)

Outfit Post: My Favorite Shoes

These are one of my favorite pairs of shoes.
I bought them several years ago in New York City on a trip with my Mom. I was originally looking for something more like these, but when I found this pair I quickly changed my mind.
I found them in a random little shoe store that didn't appear to be a chain or anything extra special and I unfortunately don't remember the name.
However, they've faithfully accompanied me to various places and events since then (including a few weddings) and have held up quite nicely.

My hair was originally inspired by this style, but didn't end up looking anything like it really...
Oh well.

Today's Thoughts

I loved being a teenager.

Of course I pretty much still look like one.
(I got asked the other day if I enjoyed my Prom...)
But I had so much fun being stupid and young and dramatic and obnoxious and silly.
In ways that I no longer can be anymore.
I think it is important to be all of these things at some point.
So, I guess I won't get so annoyed at the loud teenagers that sit in front of me at the movies, or the ones that goof off at concerts, or the ones that walk around the mall talking about things that don't really seem very important.

It's just their turn to be all of those things.
