Calling All Christmas Shoppers!

Christmas is just around the corner (39 days away to be exact)!
So why don't you go ahead and get a little head start on your shopping?
As of now it takes 2-3 weeks to make and ship most of the hand knits in the shop and there's already a line, so you want to get your order in now while you can!
After all, you want Santa to bring your gifts in time for Christmas don't you? :)

Naomi & Scott

Meet Naomi and Scott.

Remember them?
They've been dating for a while now and wanted some photos together to commemorate that, so I traveled up to Charlottesville to do a little photoshoot with them!
They wanted to do it at Walnut Creek Park, a place that they spend a lot of time at together. Once I saw the place for myself I understood why! It was beautiful. Especially with all the Fall leaves.
But yea, these two, they're pretty much adorable together.
But I'll let the photos speak for themselves. ;)

Episodes

I briefly mentioned over the weekend helping out with an event for The Gray Haven Project, a local organization here in Richmond that fights against human trafficking.
To talk a little more about it, it was a fundraiser which showcased art from artists all over the world. The showcase was titled "Episodes"- Illustrated Stories of Survivors of Sex Trafficking and depicted moving pieces of the artists interpretations of the before and after effects of human trafficking, with an emphasis on hope and restoration.
It was so beautifully put together and I only wished I'd had money to bid on one of the pieces!

All the proceeds from the silent auction and the ticket sales went to The Gray Haven Project and Designers Against Child Slavery, who also helped put the event together.

It was an amazing night and I loved being a part of it.
Not only that, but it was so cool seeing my photos on all of the Gray Haven's brochures and even on their new website!
I loved being able to use my God given abilities to help out such an amazing organization.
Just goes to show that everyone can make a difference and use their talents and skills for good. :)

Anyway, here are a few photos from the night!
Enjoy.

Sam

Meet Sam.

I've actually known Sam for quite a few years because he's my friend Maddie's brother!
Because I've known him since he was about eleven, I've had a hard time believing that he's a senior this year. Let alone driving... and working a grown up job... and going off to college... and planning a back packing trip across Europe with his friend (can you tell I'm jealous?)...
(Ok sorry Sam, the embarrassment will end here! Promise.)
He's grown up to be a pretty awesome guy though and we had a grand old time taking his senior photos.
We also couldn't have asked for a better day.
It was just gorgeous.

Friday's Letters

Dear Schedule,
You are just a teeny tiny bit insane right now.
What with a craft show tomorrow (and being on the waiting list for two more), an art showcase to help out with for The Gray Haven Project, a jewelry show next week, six photoshoots this month alone (as of now), two markets/holiday bizarres that want to sell my stuff, Etsy orders, custom orders, AND my Birthday AND Christmas to get ready for...
On top of just the normal church/friend/family/life stuff...

If you could just allow me enough time to work on knitting that sweater and stay healthy I'll be happy.
Oh and sleeping.
Sleeping's nice too.

Attention Attention!

Just a few announcements over here!
(Three to be exact)

1. Time is running out for senior portraits! Once the holiday's hit, things are gonna get crazy. So book them now while you can and while there are still pretty leaves on the trees!

2. I will be a vendor at the Return of the Curls Holiday Trunk Show!
I've been stocking up on my jewelry and you're going to want to come and see all the new pieces I've been creating! You can also check out their Facebook page here.
3. I will also be a part of the Bizarre Market this year above Chop Suey Books in Carytown! Starting November 23rd until Christmas Eve you'll be able to buy some A Girl Named Leney pieces there!

Okay, that's all!
Hope you had a good Wednesday.
It's back to work for me.
