hello winter
i love you because,

of the fires we build to keep warm
of the foods we eat like soups and grilled cheese
of the drinks we drink like tea and hot chocolate
of the blankets we snuggle under
of the books we stay in to read
of the knits we get to wear
of the knits we get to knit
of the snow you (sometimes) bring
of the crisp air we get to walk in
of the feelings we get being cozy inside our homes with our favorite people

Life According To Instagram

This week I...

- Got my hair trimmed finally. My darn bangs grow so fast...
-Tried out a new restaurant.
-Took a trip to DC for a day (no offense to anyone who lives there but I never want to live there... How do you stand the traffic??)
-Went to Ikea! One of my favorite places in the world. Now there's a place I could live...
-Had one of the best photoshoots to date with this girl. Cannot wait to share the rest!!
-Listened to a lot of Christmas music
-Saw The Hobbit (yes, I am a LOTR fan)
-Shared a new senior photo session. Go take a look!
- Received 400 likes on my Facebook page!! You guys are all awesome. Thanks to everyone who shared the page with their family and friends in order to make that happen! If you haven't liked it yet, go check it out. :)



Mint

One of my dear friends took me out for a belated Birthday dinner recently and, being self proclaimed connoisseurs of the Richmond food scene, we knew we wanted to try out a new restaurant!
So we went to Mint.
It was a wonderful little restaurant, we had such a nice time.
We were even lucky enough to get a window seat (I love window seats).
I had their fried pickles and Manakintowne Farm Mixed Greens salad and both were delicious!
I highly recommend it if you need a new place to try out. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely!

Open Happiness


I was looking through some old photos and videos tonight and I came across this.
A screen shot from a video from this photoshoot in February.

I feel so lucky to have this guy in my life.
Too often I take things for granted and he's definitely one of them at times.
He's pretty much the best and I couldn't ask for anyone better.
I love him to pieces. 
I just wanted to take the time to say that today. 
Because he deserves a shout out.
