A Haircut & A Giveaway

I was recently contacted by an agency working with Hair Cuttery and asked if I wanted to receive a gift card to use at one of their salon's and in return take some photos and do a review here on the blog of my experience.
My hair was looking a little shabby so I figured, why not?
So last week I dragged my friend Meagan along with me to help take some photos and got myself a haircut!

Hair Cuttery's prices are affordable, and that's what I like about them. Because honestly, as nice as it would be to be able to go to a top dollar salon and get a high dollar haircut, a lot of us just can't afford that on the regular. Especially when all you really want is just a little trim and restyling.
In my experience Hair Cuttery has always lived up to that part of their bargain.

I chose the Style Express package which was an affordable $27 and included a shampoo, Redken Chemistry treatment and a cut and blow dry. I can already tell that the chemistry treatment made my hair a lot smoother and softer. Which is definitely a plus in the cold dry winter!
I only wanted a trim with a few more layers put in my hair and my bags fixed but they offer a lot more at Hair Cuttery. They're not just limited to hair cuts, they also do color, waxing and texturing as well.
You can see a list of all their services on their website!
You should also know that through March 4th, Hair Cuttery is also offering discounted color packages and 40% off professional shampoo and conditioning liters.

I'm super happy with the overall outcome and I love my new hair!
But don't take my word for it, see for yourself...

Here's my hair before...

After!

Life According To Instagram

This week I...

-Shared some photos of a pretty redhead
-Broke my thrifting fast and found quite a few gems over the weekend. See a few photos of my finds here.
-Shared a favorite piece of art
-Knit up quite a few foxes (one is going all the way to Norway!)
-Posted some photos of one of my favorite people
-Shared a little outfit post
-Spent some good time with good friends
-Listened to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack on repeat
-Shared some photos from a photoshoot I collaborated on with a super talented photographer!
-Actually had some semblance of a weekend for once. I'm getting better about delegating work and making time for myself and not doing work all the time 24/7 (although I still kind of do that...)

Aubrey

This red headed beauty was so much fun to take photos of.
Aubrey is a good friend of Janelle's and she's quickly becoming a good friend of mine too!
She came along to Janelle's single promo shoot and so of course we had to have a mini photoshoot with her as well.
I mean hello, she's stunning.
Also, I plan to steal those boots from her.
Hopefully we're the same size. I forgot to ask.

Enjoy the photos!

The Black Dress

Today's post is a little last minute because I was busy with orders from the shop and didn't have time to do the planned photo post that was meant for today.
(There's one coming tomorrow though so keep an eye out!)
Meagan took these photos on a random downtown excursion a few weeks ago so I thought I would turn them into a bit of an outfit post.
(My favorite one from the set is in a previous post which you can see here)
This is my favorite black dress.
Enjoy!
Meagan's work is simply gorgeous.

A Piece Of Art

I've been wanting to share this for a while.

The first image is of a photo I instagrammed back in December and posted on Facebook.
(Just, you know, me all bundled up in a scarf. The norm.)
The second image is of a painting my friend Bree did of the aforementioned photo a mere few hours later.
Talk about an artist.
I was so surprised when I saw it, and even more surprised (and excited) when she gave it to me!
I pretty much haven't been able to stop looking at it since. It's pretty much my most favorite piece of art ever now.
I'm obsessed.
I keep telling her she needs to open up an Etsy shop.
This talent needs to be shared with the world.
Am I right?

Thanks again Bree for my beautiful piece of art.
It makes my heart happy.

Jordan

Meet Jordan.
Jordan is actually my cousin so we go way back.
In fact she's been on the blog before when she and her sister had me take some portraits of them early last year!
We had a little photoshoot a few weeks ago and I am still in love with the results.
So in love that I had the hardest time narrowing down which ones to share!
So there are kind of a lot.
I know "less is more" and all, but we all like looking at photos right?
So who's complainin?

Side note: I wanted to steal her outfit the whole time.
This girl's got style.

Enjoy the photos!

I feel pretty lucky to be related to someone this beautiful.
P.s. She's single boys

Little Red Riding Hood

It's been almost a month since I mentioned that I did a fairtytale themed shoot with a new friend and some of my hand knits.
Well, I'm finally getting around to sharing the images from the shoot!
Stephanie did such an amazing job on them, even now I am still in awe! She really is one of the most talented photographers I've met and she was so much fun to work with on this project.
It became quite the collaborative effort in fact and I met a lot of awesome people and made a few new friends in the process.
A huge thanks to everyone is definitely in order!
Couldn't have done it without all of these super talented people.

I'm sure you can guess what the theme is without even having to read the title of the post.
(Grandmother... what big ears you have...)
Enjoy the photos!

California Here We Come

(This is my excited face,  I apologize if it scares you)

Yes, it's true.
I'm going to California! I can't really express how excited I am.
This face is only part of it.
It still doesn't seem like it's actually happening!
It's something that's been in the works since last fall, so to have it finally happening seems unreal.
I can't wait.

So blogging friends, what are some things I must see/eat/do?
I'll mostly be in the San Diego and Los Angeles area if that helps with recommendations!
I do wish I could see the Golden Gate Bridge on this trip, I've always wanted to, but it's too far away from where we'll be.
That's okay though, I'll save it for next time!
We'll definitely be going to the San Diego Zoo and a yarn shop or two (gotta get something for the travel blanket!), but what are some of your recommendations?

The Red Scarf

The few outfit related posts I've done lately seem to revolve around my finished knitting projects.
For example here and here.
I think it's probably only going to get worse from here.
I'm sure my next one will involve knit socks or something.
So prepare yourselves now.
