Modeling

Modeled for James and Meagan just for fun last week.
I'm not really much of a model honestly, I really have to be posed to a T because I don't know what I'm doing. At all.
I'm more comfortable behind the camera, which is to be expected I guess.
(Although Meagan's definitely been working on that with me as you can see here, here, here and here)
Not to mention when I take serious photos I usually look like I'm going to cry.
Such are my limitations I suppose.

I have to confess this is kind of a filler post for the week. I have a lot of photos to edit from a wedding this weekend so I kinda need to go do that!
But James and Meagan are both fabulous so they always deserve a shout out.

Life According To Instagram

So this is a little bit of an unconventional week in review post.
Mostly because I haven't done one in ages. So this is kind of a mish-mash of some things that have been going on for the past week or two!

-Announced the brand new blog design! Let me know what you think. :)
-Had our (hopefully) last snow of the season. Ready for warm weather now!
-Worked on some new designs for the shop
-Posted more Europe photos
-Went to the zoo! The meerkats and giraffes were my favorite.
-Wished someone special a happy birthday
-Celebrated Easter
-Spent a whole week getting over being sick. It was pretty awful. Finally on the mend though and ready to get back to work!
-Figured you've heard about Google Reader biting the dust this Summer. So I thought I would mention that you can now follow me on Canopi (a super cool up and coming new site!) or Blog Lovin. :)

New Blog Design

Super excited to finally reveal the new blog design!
After months of working on this it's finally done!
I can hardly believe it.
Huge thanks to Bri of The Secret Life of Bee for working with me on it! She put in a lot of hours of hard work and I really appreciate it. Definitely pop over to her blog and tell her how awesome she is.
Also big thanks to my friend Meagan for taking all the lovely new photos for the about page and photography page and the welcome photo etc.
She is fantastic as always.
And of course it can't be forgotten that she helped me design my logo in the first place!
Melissa is also in need of thanks for helping out with a lot of little technical difficulties (which she was awesome enough to work on very late at night) and for even making me super cool new icons for my Facebook page!
Basically I'm surrounded by awesome people and I now owe everyone a lifetime supply of knits.

I remember being eight years old, sitting on a taupe-colored couch, clutching pencil-sized, plastic, red knitting needles and wrapping multi-colored purple and green yarn (which, at the time, I thought was beautiful) around them. My grandmother was teaching me how to knit. 

And so the obsession began. 

My name is Leney, and I work full time at designing and creating things for my Etsy shop, which holds a variety of knits, jewelry pieces and other things! I've been artsy ever since I was a little girl, and I can't remember a time when I wasn't knitting, sewing, painting or drawing. (Or making super- attractive paper bag vests with pom-poms glued to them, but that's a story for another time!) I love working with people to create custom pieces, and I'm always open to a new idea or challenge. 

Additionally, I'm a photographer! Taking photos is another one of my many passions. You can read more about that and how to book a photo session on my photography page, as well as in this post here. 

In short, creating is what I do, whether it's with yarn and knitting needles or with a camera capturing images. I live and breathe it every day, and through it I strive to give glory to my Creator, because He's the one who gave me these talents and abilities to begin with! When I'm not knitting or taking photos you can find me... 

Thrifting, eating fried green tomatoes, making lists of everything, watching Gilmore Girls, reading library books, playing dominoes, listening to Billie Holiday or Beirut, drinking soda from glass bottles (because it tastes better that way), finding excuses to travel and taking care of a bunny named Lewis.
