A Week In Film

This week I had a very dear friend come and visit me. 
(Hence the lack of posting)
We spent the whole week doing all the best kinds of things. 
Here's some film we both took during the week, documenting our adventures.
I'm a little bit in love with all of it. 
Despite because of all of it's lovely imperfections. 

Let The Morning Bring

The beauty of mornings has been impressed upon me more so lately.
I've always had more night owl like tendencies but I'm finding that as I get older I enjoy the mornings more and more.
There's just something about the beautiful and peaceful silence that comes with the beginning of a new day.
A fresh start.
An unused inception.
A beginning.

Meet Glenn and Christine.

I loved this engagement session for so many reasons.

One being that Glenn and Christine were pretty much one of the cutest and most fun couples ever and made my job super duper easy by being themselves. Which always makes for the best candid shots. 
Another reason was because they brought their scooter. I mean hello, how fun is that??

And then of course there was the fact that we did it at one of my all time favorite places here in Richmond: 

Talk about inspiration galore.
I definitely have to give them a shout out for letting us come after hours to take these photos. 
Everyone was so sweet and accommodating, so thanks heaps guys!
Not to mention the bar tender in Amuse gave Christine and Glenn some free shots!
Which of course made for some fun snapshots as well.
(Okay okay no more cheesy puns I promise...)
Anyway, I'm so excited for their wedding in the fall which I also have the honor of shooting!
These two are definitely going to have one amazing and super fun day.
Can't wait to help celebrate it with them.

I shared a little more than usual today because I just couldn't decide which ones were my favorite. 
I'm a little bit in love with all of them.

Things I Love Thursday: A Spoon Ring


For this week's Things I Love Thursday I'm sharing my spoon ring.
This was once my Momma's when she was my age.
I've had it since I was about thirteen and it's remained my favorite ring ever since.
I remember wearing it to various momentous occasions throughout high school, including prom, graduation, the first day of that monumental photography class etc. 
Then again, I pretty much wore it every day so none of that's really all that notable.

I've almost lost it countless times, once even while I was in England, but it's always found it's way back to me. 
I know it's pretty silly but it's come to mean a lot to me and I hope I'll be able to pass it on to my own daughter one day.
I'm a big believer in heirlooms and keeping things for future generations. 
(Much to the potential chagrin of my future husband who is probably going to ask, more than once, why in the world I am keeping that creepy doll, or that weird dress that I wore to my first dance, or that Batman Pez dispenser... among other things.) 
I just think there are some things we should keep around because they tell special stories, and without these things we'd forget how to tell them. 

Just so long as you aren't holding onto so many things that you're a potential candidate for that show about hoarders...
Which I'm not.
