Purl Soho

Well hello there!
Bet you thought I had died from a Christmas cookie overdose or something didn't you? Sorry for the lack of posting, however I've been in New York City (yes, my third time this year!) so I think my absence can be excused, don't you think? I went for a few days and it was so nice to get away and have a little vacation.
Though coming home to 93 emails was a little stressful...
I won't be long because I have a lot of Christmas wrapping and present finishing to do but I did want to share a small snippet from my trip!

I went to the very lovely, ever so beautiful Purl SoHo while in NYC and let me tell you... It's a knitter/crocheter/sewer/crafter's dream come true.
I almost died.
Never had I seen so much beautifulness in one place!
And so nicely color organized too (I love color organization).
If I had all the money in the world a good portion of it surely would go to purchasing the store.
I could have quite happily lived there.
I loved it so much that I went twice.
Ok sorry, enough gushing, here are some photos so that you can potentially better understand my euphoria.

I was pretty much in heaven

It was a wonderful experience and everyone there was so nice and helpful.
Needless to say I will be going again the next time I visit New York.

Also make sure to check out their blog where they post almost daily tutorials and patterns for fun crafts!

Another New York post full of pictures will come soon after Christmas.
But for now, back to present wrapping.

Book Page Art

Put up some art in the shop yesterday!
I make funny little sentences out of recycled book pages.
I find them pretty entertaining at least.
If you do too, stop by the shop and purchase one! Maybe for yourself or maybe as a last minute gift?
They're only $10
They're unique and one of a kind, I'll never make two that are the same so if you see one you like, you better get it now ;)

A Little Gift Guide

It's that time of year where bloggers everywhere are doing gift guides.
Their top picks of -insert amount of money here- and under gifts to give you some ideas and inspiration for your friends and family's Christmas presents. Well with ten days left until Christmas I decided it would be fun to do one too! Mine of course has mostly things I would like for myself on it... but I tried to add a little variety and not just have this be a personal wish list ;)

Sorry for the lack of mens things... I couldn't find that much that wasn't super expensive or that I even liked really... So I hope you've bought all your men lovely things already!

Back to getting some things done.
Christmas you are coming too fast!

Sephora

I recently was invited to attend an after hours event at a local Sephora store hosted by bloggers Jayme and Mendi of Her Late Night Cravings! It was a lot of fun and I even had one of the makeup artists do my make up for me. She made me look so glamorous and it only took her a few minutes! I'm not used to wearing that much makeup (I learned from my Mother that the trick to wearing makeup is to look like you're not wearing any) however if I were given a more step by step tutorial on how to do my make up better I would consider wearing more of it because it sure is fun!
Also in attendance were friends Sydney and Larissa who I enjoy seeing as always.
Check out some photos from the night below!

Thanks again Jayme and Mendi for putting the event together! You guys did a fabulous job. Thanks so much for inviting me and I look forward to attending more in the future.

As always, see more photos here.

Snip Snip

It's good to have bangs back.

Of course I'll probably change my mind in a week or two when I decide I'm tired of them getting in my face....
But for now I like them.

A Giveaway!

So today is the start of a giveaway I'm doing over at my new friend Ashley's blog Sloanbook
Check it out and enter!
I'm also offering a code for 10% off your purchase at the shop.

How was your weekend?
I'm trying not to get overwhelmed with all the things I have going on before Christmas. So much to do, so little time in which to do it. A lot of custom orders need to be finished (bring on the Parks and Rec, The Office, Modern Family, New Girl, Pan Am and Parenthood hulu episodes I've missed for the past few weeks!) not to mention Christmas gifts. And blog posts. And articles to write... and photos to edit... hmm...
Crossing my fingers I get it all done.

Stay tuned, I'm going to be doing my very best to (sanely) keep up with everything despite the full work week and Christmas #1 happening this upcoming weekend!

Tell me about your weekend.
