IFB Recap Part 3

Today I am sharing with you my outfit from the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference!
I loved putting it together.
I found this vintage slip while thrifting in New Port News with a friend a few years ago and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The hat I got at a little store in New Mexico on a vacation there last Summer. It's unique and one of a kind pieces like these that help make the best outfits!

My Weekend

I had a pretty good weekend.
Spent some time with family, ate lots of food, saw Lights in concert (with this guy and this girl), looked at old black and white photos (my favorite) knit a hat for myself, and all around had a pretty relaxing weekend.
Ready to hit this week full force and get some things done though.
Feeling motivated and ready to tackle my (ever growing) to-do list and be productive.
I also discovered this perfect little video (thank you Naomi!).
I am a little bit in love with it.

New Beginnings

March is a month that is bringing with it a lot of new and exciting changes.

One of them being a change in jobs.
I actually have a few different jobs, however I decided recently that it was time to move on from my main one.
It was a really big decision and a hard one to make, but I felt it was the right thing to do. I've felt for awhile now that I'm not living my life to it's fullest, as cliche as that sounds, and using the talents and passions that God's given me to their fullest potential so I decided it was time to start.

I am now looking at pursuing my Etsy shop, blogging and photography more and making it more of a full time thing and am really excited about it! They are things I have loved doing for quite some time now and I firmly believe you should do something you love with your life so I am going to take a shot at it!
I'm also hoping to become more involved in The Gray Haven Project as well as some other ministries.
Prayer for discipline, perseverance, wisdom and strength would be greatly appreciated.
It's definitely going to be a lot of work (especially being my own boss...) but I am really excited to start on the journey!

The biggest thing I think I am going to be struggling with over the next few months is finding a good routine. I am the queen of procrastination and distractions. I will spend an hour on Pinterest before I get to editing photos. So I need to come up with a sort of system that allows me to get a good chunk of work done but also allows for breaks here and there to reward myself! I also need to create a system for breaking up work on the computer with other forums of work, because I have found that staring at a computer for 10+ hours a day is headache inducing and just all around not good for you.

Do you bloggers/photographers/Etsy-ers out there have any good tips with this sort of thing?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

On a similar note, I rewarded myself the other day and bought myself a little present.
Actually, a big present.
But in light of the new changes and hard work I've been doing lately I thought I deserved it.
Or at least I'm pretending I do...

Remember this bag?
Well I finally broke down and bought it.
I'm just a little bit in love.

And finally, I want to take a moment to thank all of you who read my blog (The 242 there are of you now according to Blogger! And to the many who aren't on Blogger... Hey Grandparents!) and for your constant encouragement and support. I may not have time to respond to every comment, but I want you to know I read every single one and they mean so much to me.
Thank you for inspiring and motivating me to go after my dreams.
You all are the very dearest and best.

Here's to new beginnings.

The March one is up now as well. I can't decide whether or not to do it! I think I'd probably miss doing it if I didn't so I'm probably going to but I'm not 100% sure...
Do you want to do it with me?

Purl Soho (Take 2)

While recapping my IFB trip I have to pause and have a post dedicated specifically to the following.
Mostly because I'm obsessed.
For those of you who don't remember, on my last trip to NYC I had my first encounter with the infamous yarn/craft shop known as Purl Soho
I instantly fell in love.
Not only did I go once, but twice during that trip.
So of course I had to stop by again.
In RVA we are lacking in the yarn shop department so when I travel I always have an eye out for local yarn shops and take every opportunity to stop in one!

The cowl I made with some of the yarn!

There's just something about all of the beautiful textures and supplies being so wonderfully color coordinated that is just so soothing.
I know, I'm a nerd.

IFB Recap Part 1

Today I am finally getting around to posting about the IFB Conference!
(Check out the mini Instagram post about it here)

Here is the recap of the first day of our trip.
Enjoy!

Stopped for lunch at Sanctuary T.
They have the most delicious truffled mac n cheese.
It was heavenly.

Larissa of From the Runway to RVA, my travel buddy!

Their specialty is tea, it was quite refreshing.
We stumbled upon this store, Treasure & Bond
100% of their proceeds go to various local charities.
They choose new ones every month or so.
How cool right?
They had some gorgeous things and were extremely artsy as a whole.
I loved the style of the store, they had endless beautiful things to look at!

Another stop we made was at the most beautiful little vintage shop called
Definitely more on the expensive side but so very fun to look at!

Dinner at Dos Caminos. Their plantain empanadas were so scrumptious.
The best empanada's I've ever had.
The guacamole was also most excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so fun and classy and they had cool music playing that made us want to get out of our seats and dance! A really great and affordable spot, stop by if you're ever in the area.
