First Impressions

My first impressions of the UK (Liverpool to be more specific) are as follows...

They do indeed call strollers "prams"

Apparently, and I quote:
"You have such skinny squirrels in the states. We have well taken care of squirrels here."

"Cheers" Is another way of saying thanks

Upon landing, the little boy behind me on the plane started singing Frank Sinatra's
British children are very appropriately musically educated

Calendars here are called "diaries"
(So imagine a grown man saying that he has to go write down a date in his diary...)

I will never get used to driving on the opposite side of the road

I've started thinking in a british accent

They DO have Krispy Kreme here!

While at a craft store today (I mean... come on guys, it's me) I heard Justin Bieber's
Brits love the Biebs too

It's true what they say about the tea obsession...

You know how we have TJ Maxx? Well here it's TK Maxx
I kid you not

.....................
All jokes aside, I'm here safe and sound and I've already had an adventure or two and can't wait to have some more.
Photos to come!

P.s. This is my 300th post and I'm almost at 300 followers!
Craziness.

Maddie & Taylor

Meet Maddie and Taylor.
Maddie and I have been good friends for quite some time and we have shared many wonderful adventures growing up. We don't get to see as much of each other now a days but every time we do we pick up right where we left off. She is truly a great friend and I love her dearly.
Her Birthday is coming up and so, after collaborating with her boyfriend Taylor, I drove to Yorktown to surprise her with a lunch date and photoshoot!
We had such a great time.
As I mentioned before, it was quite possibly one of my favorite photoshoots that I've ever done.
I mean, when you have models as good looking and cute as these two with a back drop of the beach... How could you not?
See for yourself.
P.s. Aren't their outfits so adorable and nautical? Yea. That wasn't even planned.
Too. Cute.

I told you they were cute.

Lebs & Mackenzie

Meet Lebs & Mackenzie.
Lebs is my very handsome brother and Mackenzie is his super cute girlfriend.
It was so much fun taking pictures of these two.
They've been dating for quite sometime now and originally we had talked about doing a Valentine's Day photoshoot to celebrate that. But our schedules didn't coordinate until a bit after V-Day so we decided on just a cute little trip to the park instead.
This is the result.
I'm a little bit in love with the turn out.
See for yourself...

Aren't they precious?

The Final Countdown

I can now count on one hand the days I have left before I leave.

Things have been pretty crazy here.
Getting ready for England has elicited a long list of things to do.
Which seems to just be getting longer.
Packing of course is the biggest chore I need to deal with.
But we all know how I hate packing...
So that probably won't happen until last minute as always.
A lot of time is being spent on the computer as I have several photoshoots I need to finish.
I'm getting super excited though.
I still can't really believe it's happening.
England!

Comfort

This week I was able to venture to another Richmond restaurant to further my goal of trying (at least) 10 new Richmond restaurants this year.
This one is called Comfort and I'd been meaning to try it out for quite some time.
As soon as I walked in I fell in love.
It had such a cute and relaxed feel to it and everyone there was so nice and laid back.
Known for their homemade food and southern style meals I was a bit apprehensive since meatloaf and catfish are not my personal favorites. However, as soon as I saw the words "fried green tomato" on the menu I knew I'd be coming back again.
I got the fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich (of course) along with their mac n cheese. Both were delicious and I cleaned my plate!

They also served their drinks in cute little mason jars.
Made my sweet tea taste all the more refreshing if you ask me!

This Richmond restaurant was definitely a great spot to have visited and I'll be eating there again in the future. If you're ever in the neighborhood go and try it out, it's scrumptious.

Spring

A Prayer in Spring by Robert Frost

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

Today is the first day of Spring.
It was a beautiful morning.
These photos don't do it any justice.
It was exquisitely foggy and misty and the temperature was just right.
As much as I love getting my sleep, there is something calming and peaceful about getting up early.
I definitely need to do it more often.
On the nights I'm not up until 3am editing photos that is...

What did you do for the first day of Spring?

A Week In Review #2

This week I...

-Ate a whole package of gummy worms...
-Was mentioned over on Amy's blog! So glad she likes her necklace.
-Watched the VCU game on Thursday (I'm becoming quite the Ram).
-Had several catch up dates with some very lovely friends (bagels and smoothies never tasted so good).
-Discovered the white chocolate Kit Kat. What have I been doing with my life until now???
-Discovered a new band: All Sons & Daughters.
-Scored some awesome thrifty finds at Goodwill. A Baekaard passport holder ($1.25), two bags of yarn ($2.50) and an orange ironing board which I didn't get on my first trip but I couldn't stop thinking about it all day so I went back for it ($4.25).
-Made my first ever tutorial!
-Booked some photosoots (Hurray!)
-Wore shorts for the first time since last Summer! It's getting warm around here.
-Ate a lot of junk food (shocking. I know.)
-Opened the windows in my room. I love when the season changes to allow this. You can't beat fresh air.
-Wore pigtails. Not sure I feel about them...
-Walked around Crate & Barrel making a mental wishlist of all the things I wish I could buy if I had all the money in the world.
-Came up with some new ideas for the shop.
-Drove to Yorktown to surprise one of my very dearest friends with a lunch date and photoshoot with her man! We had so much fun. It quite possibly was one of my favorite photoshoots ever. Keep an eye out for the photos soon!
-Drank a frozen lemonade. My favorite.
-Discovered Urban now sells Impossible Project's polaroid film! Now if only I could justify spending the $28 for a pack...
-Went to the river
-Half heartedly wore green on St. Patrick's Day
-Celebrated a friends birthday
-Made a cute owl necklace

 ....................

As you can see, it was quite a busy week.
And next week will be just as busy with getting ready to leave for England!

How was your week? What did you do?
